Plastic Mold Cooling

High-Performance Material Processing

Material processing in the molding industry has benefited significantly from higher-performance, custom heat transfer solutions. Plastic mold cooling through the use of advanced thermal pins allows companies to increase cycle times and produce molds with consistently higher quality. We customize every thermal pin and recharge core from design to build to fit most common molding apparatus, including extrusion, injection, rotational, and blow molding equipment.

Plastic Mold Cooling

We offer multiple options for Injection, Rotational/Rubber, Blow, and Extrusion plastic mold cooling. A few of the more popular molding options that can be cooled with our custom thermal solutions include:

  • Injection Molding: In small cores, thermal pins enable cooling in areas previously inaccessible to water cooling. In solid cores, you can draw heat from the plastic to the mold base or to remote water channels. Most solid core applications pay for themselves within 4 to 12 weeks.
  • Rotational/Rubber Molding: Thermal pin heat conductors transfer heat from rotational and rubber molds to heat the plastic faster and more evenly, regardless of variations in mold thickness.
  • Blow Molding: Thermal Pin heat conductors uniformly cool the end of the blow pin. Hollow thermal pin heat conductors evenly cool the necks of blow molded bottles.
  • Extrusion Molding: Because thermal pin heat conductors are virtually isothermal, not only do they transfer heat fast, they do it evenly. They eliminate hot spots which cause sink marks, pulling, and spotting.
